Folding slung lounge chair. Pulling inspiration from campaign furniture and folding chair designs by Hans Wegner. Made of solid white oak, leather and canvas. Hand turned brass hardware to allow folding action. Finished with a hard wax oil.
The canvas is a repurposed old army tent from my youth. The concept allows for the sling to be made of a material that has meaning to it's owner. Whether it be an old blanket, provincial flag, or a piece of an old sail, it will have a unique sentimental value to each person.
Black Mass Lounge
Made of nesting bent plywood forms, solid maple base and brass chicago bolts. This piece is deceptively warm and comfortable. The exaggerated back and sides help create a feeling of being embraced. Exposed joinery and end grain preserve on honesty in materials and processes.
Mid-Century Modern inspired record cabinet with top access hatch, dual sliding doors and bent steel legs. The intent was to create something that took inspiration from the MCM furniture of the past, and made it more current in material use and colour choice. The top surface needed to be as seamless as possible, veneered panels were used in order to achieve the grain continuation in the maple.
