Brittany MacDougall is a recent graduate of the Sheridan College Furniture Design Program and collaborated with us on our most recent project; The Bound Series.
Brittany MacDougall is an evolving furniture designer and maker from Toronto. Exposed to handcrafted furniture made by her grandfather she worked toward the goal of being a maker herelf from a young age.
Her modern and functional designs often incorporate asymmetrical forms, secondary materials, and evocative use of negative space and colour. Thusly producing beautiful and timeless furniture pieces which solve problems that people did not know existed.
“I want to create dynamic
relationships between elements,
adding visual interest via secondary materials, colours and textures.
I am drawn to asymmetrical forms, providing a different view any way you look at the piece.
I focus on negative space and how it can be used, both
functionally or purely for aesthetic pleasure.“
